There are certain problems with voice recognition on HTC devices that have the HTC dictation service as the default voice recognition engine. The root problem is that other apps cannot use that service (security exception) for voice recognition although it is registered as the default voice recognition engine on the device.
In order to use voice recognition with our application, you will need to set the default voice recognition engine to anything other than the HTC recognition engine. We are hopeful that in the future this issue will be resolved by HTC.
If you don't have any other recognition engines installed, go to the Android Play store and download Google voice search. That application comes with an engine other apps can use.
