New release 2.6.4-265

This release brings a couple of announcements. We would like to point out what many of you have already noticed and emailed us about! We did recently redesign the homepage for Enhanced SMS & Caller ID+ (known by many of you simply as eCID). We completely revamped the page to make it better for you when viewing it on your mobile device! Our apps are designed for phones and tablets and it just made sense to have our homepage optimized for them too. We would love to hear what you think about it (either positive or negative)! As part of the redesign, we went through eCID's documentation and made sure it was up to date. Again, if you think something is missing, do let us know!

The update we just released for eCID was mainly for those that are multilingual. Basically, there were a couple of problems with our automatic language detection that we addressed. To our surprise, the issues varied depending on the version of Android you were running. On some (very) old versions of Android, language detection would work for newly received Gmail messages but not other types of messages announced by eCID. On newer versions of Android, it would work for all types of notifications but "randomly" stop working for a period of time. We believe that we have taken care of these issues and apologize to those affected by them.

New in this release of eCID is the ability for those with multiple installed text to speech (TTS) voice engines to specify a preferred engine on a per language basis. That's right! eCID will now be able to switch between voice engines, if that is what you wish it to do. For example, on my device, I have paid for and installed the SVOX US English Grace Voice. My native language is English but I infrequently receive messages in Spanish. I don't receive nearly enough messages in Spanish to justify paying for the Spanish language speech engine from SVOX and so messages I did receive in Spanish were spoken in English. This sounded terrible and was hard to decipher. So now, since Android already natively supports the Spanish language with the robotic sounding Pico TTS voice engine, I can tell eCID to switch to Pico for messages I receive in Spanish and SVOX for all other messages!

In closing, we would like to thank all of you for supporting us in the development of eCID. Given the sheer number of feature requests we have received, both over email and through the eCID testers community, we will continue to be hard at work delivering new features for you to use.

If you are satisfied with our apps, we would greatly appreciate a 5 star review on the Play store and a little comment from you on what you like about the app. If you are not 100% satisfied, please contact us and tell us why. We do strive for your 100% satisfaction and will try to correct any issues you encounter.
